Never too old for Play Dough...

A few times over the last year I've looked at our bin of Play-Dough stuff and wondered if the big boys have outgrown it? It's been a while since it's been used and I'd started to give some thought to rotating it to the back of the closet in favor of something more age appropriate. But it's Summer in Tucson. Which is kinda' like our Winter, remember?
So yesterday I whipped up a batch of fresh dough and let the boys have at it. Well I'll be darned if they didn't spend a good hour kneading and rolling and cutting out shapes. And of course, it wouldn't feel complete without lots of giggles about making "really long poops". Sigh.
Here's the recipe that I use. It's very easy and if you keep it in an airtight container, it keeps for a long time. Play Dough 2 Cups Flour 2 Cups Water 1 Tablespoon Oil 1 Cup Salt 2 Teaspoons Cream of Tarter Food Coloring (optional) Directions: Mix all ingredients together in saucepan. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and starts to stick to the pan. Knead out the lumps. Cool Completely. Store in an airtight container.
