Denim & Doilies Centerpiece

Doesn't Pinterest give holidays a whole new meaning? Oh my... SO.Much.Pretty! The only problem? Who has time to do any, much less all of it? Certainly not me. I'm on borrowed time every second my baby is sleeping, for sure. But I still love to look at all the pretty stuff and every now and then I get inspired. Check out the easy centerpiece I threw together using a few of my treasured-but-rarely-displayed doilies and a few stars cut out from denim!

As I've mentioned before, Papa's Bestemor (now known to our kids as Oldemor) gave us one or two of her hand crochet doilies each time we visited her and over the course of many years and many visits, we have quite the collection! I love them. I appreciate the time and love that went into each and every one. We even have one the size of a bedspread that was given to us by her for our wedding gift, it's amazing. They just don't fit in to my decorating style, so sadly, they sit tucked away waiting for a few opportunities throughout the year to be on display. But this was quick and easy, and best of all, didn't require any trips to the store. Cute?
