Is it just me, or does a brand new box of crayons just smell delicious? It's one of the sweet smells of childhood. I remember getting my first box of 64 Crayola crayons, with the sharpener in the back of the box. So many colors to choose from! I remember loving the tiered design of the box because it meant that I could see all of my options at once. I still remember the names of some of my favorite colors: Cerulean, Plum, Red Violet, and of course, Silver. And don't even get me started on the sharpener...coloring bliss!
I'm with you! I still love the way that the back-to-school aisle at the store smells.
ReplyDeleteAnd how about the smell of a school lunchbox? Ahhh. Makes me want to buy myself a lunchbok and pack myself a kid-lunch every day for a few weeks, just to cultivate that smell.
I am so hooked on the smell and look of a new box of crayons that I will buy my grandkids new crayons whenever I see worn edges! Never used up an entire box, ever!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, new crayons are wonderful. I love a newly sharpened #2 pencil too. I really need to do more coloring with my girls before the crayons disappear all together. They'll be replaced with flash drives before we know it.
